Most of our pleated blinds come with a solar-reflective backing — a mirror-finish layer on the outer face that bounces direct sunlight and radiant heat back out through the window before it enters the room. In winter, the same cellular structure works in reverse, trapping a layer of insulating air between the fabric and the glass and slowing heat loss. The result is a room that stays cooler in summer and warmer in winter, without touching the thermostat. It’s particularly effective in conservatories, sunrooms and any south- or west-facing window that overheats in strong sun.

When you raise a honeycomb blind, the fabric collapses into a slim stack of pleats no more than a few centimetres deep, sitting flush against the top of the window frame. From across the room, the blind almost disappears — no bulky roll, no long cord, no visible mechanism. It’s why honeycomb blinds are the default choice for minimalist, contemporary and Scandinavian-style rooms, where clean sightlines matter as much as function. Even when lowered, the tight pleats and flat drop keep the finish crisp rather than fussy.

One of the most useful features of the honeycomb system is top-down bottom-up operation — a small design detail that quietly solves a common problem. The blind can be lowered from the top OR raised from the bottom, so you can let daylight in through the upper half of the window while keeping the lower half closed for privacy. It’s the ideal setup for ground-floor bedrooms, bathrooms and any window facing the street, where you want natural light without letting passers-by see in. And when full privacy or blackout is needed, the whole blind still closes flat in a single pull.
